Hello and welcome to the ECHO's dedicated Liverpool news and transfers blog on Monday, June 26.
Liverpool are poised to take the next step in their midfield rebuild after completing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month. An absence of Champions League football did not deter Mac Allister from moving to Merseyside. The Argentina World Cup winner has signed a five-year contract at Anfield.
In today's news, Liverpool have reportedly been dealt a huge transfer blow as OGC Nice reportedly wish to keep midfielder Khephren Thuram for another season. While Chelsea, according to reports from France, 'are about to enquire about the Napoli striker'.

Brighton retain interest in man Liverpool admire
According to TalkSport Chief Football Correspondent Alex Crook, Brighton & Hove Albion are retaining their interest in young Chelsea centre back Levi Colwill.
Last month the ECHO reported the Reds' admiration of the 20-year-old as they stepped up the search for a defender, just days before the Seagulls saw a £30 million bid rejected by Chelsea.
At first it was suggested that Brighton would go back in with a club-record £40 million offer, however this never came to fruition. Despite this, they have maintained their interest, whilst Liverpool have kept their cards close to their chest.
To scupper both club's hopes and dreams, new Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino apparently wishes to keep Colwill around next season.

Salah wins Reds Goal of the Season
Mohamed Salah's match-winning goal in Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Manchester City at Anfield last October has been voted the club's goal of the season.

Former Liverpool defender Max Thompson has died
Former Liverpool defender Max Thompson - who was the Reds' youngest-ever player for 36 years - has died aged 66.
Legendary manager Bill Shankly handed the youngster his debut against Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 1973-74 season at the age of 17 years and 129 days, in the iconic Scots last campaign in charge.
In a tribute, the club said: "Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the passing of former player Max Thompson.
"Thompson, once the Reds' youngest ever player, has sadly passed away at the age of 66.
"The Liverpool-born defender joined the club as an apprentice before being rewarded with a professional contract.
"At the age of 17 years and 129 days, Thompson was handed his senior debut by Bill Shankly with a start in the final game of the 1973-74 season, a 1-1 draw away at Tottenham Hotspur.
"That club record would stand until May 2010 when Jack Robinson appeared as a 16-year-old in a Premier League fixture with Hull City."

Phillips linked with Man United
Manchester United are reportedly preparing to stun Pep Guardiola with a transfer bid for midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, United chief Erik ten Haag has green-lighted the move and is convinced he can get the best out of the England star who has struggled to make an impact at Man City.
It's suggested a big of around £35m will be tabled - £10m less than Man City pad Leeds last summer. The England international was linked with a move to Liverpool back in April.

Doku 'remains in Liverpool's sights'
Rennes winger Jeremy Doku is said to be on Liverpool's radar, having emerged as a target for the Reds in 2018.
The youngster was given a tour of Melwood and Anfield as a teenager in a bid to convince him to join the club. A move failed to materialise, but a L'Equipe report has hinted the Belgian star 'remains in Liverpool's sights'.
The article adds Doku's future at Rennes 'is not assured’ amid recent transfer speculation, with the player's contract set to expire in two years.

Leeds 'interested' in Phillips

Liverpool 'ready' €90million Valverde offer
Liverpool are said to have €90million (£77m) ready to offer for the services of Real Madrid midfielder, Federico Valverde.
After the summer arrival of Jude Bellingham and both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric signing new deals, this has left the Uruguayan as a 'main cadidate' to leave Los Blancos this summer.
That is according to a latest report from Spain, which states Liverpool are willing to put forward £77m for Valverde, a proposal the La Liga giants would find 'very diffcult to refuse'.
The article adds Carlo Ancelotti's side will 'assess the pros and cons' of keeping Valverde, who could be used as a 'sacrifice' in order to fund a deal for Kylian Mbappe.

Roberto Firmino's deal to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli is 'advancing to the final stages', it has been suggested.
The Liverpool forward will officially become a free agent at the end of the month and will likely have a range of offers to weigh up as he prepares to choose his next club.
It yesterday emerged Saudi could well become his next destination and Fabrizio Romano has stated has a 'three-year contract on the table'. It is added final details are being discussed before 'giving the green light'.

Kylian Mbappe claim
Liverpool are ready to rival Real Madrid for the signing of Kylian Mbappe this summer, it has been claimed.
The Reds have previously been suggested as a possible destination for the PSG star, who has been wanted by Real for a lengthy period of time.
Mbappe is expected to become the world's most expensive player should he leave his current employers, with the Ligue 1 giants holdoing out for a sizeable sum.
A latest update on the France international has suggested Liverpool have not given up hope of a deal for Mbappe, as made clear by FIFA agent Marco Kirdemuir. Speaking to Radio Marca, Kirdemuir has insisted Liverpool are 'competing with Real Madrid' before adding the 24-year-old could attract an offer of up to €300m (£257m).

Gravenberch outlines Bayern plan
Ryan Gravenberch has admitted he still expects to be at Bayern Munich next season.
The Dutch midfielder is a target for Liverpool, along with the likes of Gabri Veiga and Khephren Thuram, and could move on this summer after a frustrating first season in Germany.
Setting the record straight on his future when speaking to Algemeen Dagblad, he said: “I am assuming that I will still be at Bayern next season.
"That is how I am really in it. I am at a top three club in the world. I think that’s beautiful and special. I am not giving up just like that. My goal is still to succeed at Bayern.”

Nice 'want to keep' Thuram
Nice reportedly do not want to sell Khephren Thuram this summer.

Williams expected to leave Liverpool on loan
Rhys Williams is expected to leave Liverpool on loan once again this summer.
The ECHO understands that a number of clubs are interested in the 22-year-old, but Aberdeen are currently leading the race for his signature.
Liverpool boast strong relations with the Scottish Premiership outfit, having been impressed with how easy they were to deal with last summer when negotiating the transfer of Calvin Ramsay to Anfield. Meanwhile, both clubs were pleased with the success of Leighton Clarkson’s loan move to the Dons last season.
Clarkson has since joined Aberdeen on a permanent basis, and Williams could now follow in his former team-mate’s footsteps to Pittodrie.
