Thiago Silva is a 'quick fix' for Chelsea says expert
Thiago Silva may leave Chelsea this summer after attracting "serious interest" from clubs in Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian's contract runs until June 2024 but with the Blues keen to level their books after their lavish spending spree last year, an attractive offer may force their hand.
According to Simon Phillips, reporting on his Substack, there are a number of Saudi Pro League sides interested in acquiring his services. It is also understood that there may have been some early contact made with the 38-year-old.

Chelsea have already done a lot of business with the Saudis this summer. Silva's centre-back partner Kalidou Koulibaly was offloaded to Al-Hilal for a fee in the region of £20million while reigning champions Al-Ittihad snapped up N'Golo Kante on a free transfer.
It is expected that Hakim Ziyech will be the next Chelsea player on his way over to the Middle East. He is reportedly set to join Koulibaly at Al-Hilal ahead of next season after agreeing personal terms with the club.

Silva may follow but has affirmed that he intends to fulfil his contract at Stamford Bridge providing new manager Mauricio Pochettino sees him as part of his plans.
“I have a contract here [at Chelsea], right?" he told ESPN. "It’s even strange, because several things are coming out [in the media] and it turns out that the fans [of Fluminense] are in love.

"I’ve always fulfilled my contracts. I won’t stay here if Chelsea don’t want me for next year or if the new coach who arrives don’t want me to stay. I’m going to try to fulfil my contract that is signed until next year.”
