Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive after Jacob Ramsey suffered an ankle injury during England's Under-21 European Championship quarter-final win over Portugal
Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey looks set to miss the remainder of England's U21 European Championship due to injury.
According to the Daily Mail, Ramsey could be sidelined for the rest of the tournament. The midfielder was forced off during England's 1-0 quarter-final win over Portugal on Sunday after he appeared to sustain a knock to the ankle.
He was later spotted leaving the stadium on crutches. After the game, manager Lee Carsley said: "If there's a chance of a player with injections, they won't be doing that.
"It's still development football. Jacob's in good hands. It's hard to tell, he's got a lot of numbness in his foot and ankle." Ramsey had been a standout performer for Lee Carsley's side, starting three of their last four games.

The Young Three Lions will face Israel in the semi-final on Wednesday (5pm). Carsley's side defeated Israel 2-0 in the group stage, thanks to goals from Anthony Gordon and Emile Smith Rowe.
If they come away with another victory, the final will be staged against either Spain or Ukraine on Saturday. If Ramsey is unable to make a swift recovery, Emile Smith Rowe who replaced the Villa midfielder on Sunday, is expected to take his place on the left-hand side of England's attack.
