EA Sports released a 2023 Women's World Cup update to FIFA 23, ahead of the tournament's start in July. The highly-anticipated tournament, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20, 2023, is set to be the biggest Women's World Cup in history.

To celebrate the tournament, EA released a Women's World Cup-specific update in FIFA 23, which included a brand-new game mode called Lead Your Country. Players are able to use any of the 32 qualified nations across a host of different game modes, creating the most immersive Women's World Cup experience in EA Sports FIFA history, reports the Mirror.

The 2023 Women's World Cup update went live in FIFA 23 at the end of June, It will be free for all FIFA 23 players, and while there's no confirmation on whether the added game modes will remain after the tournament's conclusion, the 2022 Men's World Cup game mode is still available.

Unfortunately, there won't be a Women's World Cup promo or event in FUT, but a brand-new game mode has been added. The Lead Your Country game mode allows players to control one specific player from any of the qualified nations, or their own custom avatar, and attempt to lead their selected nation to success. It's a bit similar to a Player Career Mode, with players given the option to control one player or the entire squad as they try to win the World Cup.

In addition to the new game mode, an authentic 2023 Women's World Cup tournament mode is being added into FIFA 23, while all 32 nations will be available to use in Kick Off. To make sure the World Cup experience is as real as possible, custom stadium dressings, new cinematics, match presentations, dedicated commentary, and the authentic Women's World Cup trophy to lift at the end will all be added in the update.
