Aston Villa suffer major injury blow as Jacob Ramsey injury verdict delivered
Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Jacob Ramsey is set for a spell on the sidelines
Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey will likely miss the first month of Aston Villa's Premier League season with a broken metatarsal.
He suffered the injury on international duty with England Under-21s last week, during the win over Portugal. Ramsey was withdrawn in the 67th minute of the Young Lions' 1-0 win.
He will now miss the entirety of Villa's pre-season schedule and possibly the first four matches of the new Premier League season. Ramsey could return for the home match against Crystal Palace following the September international break if his rehabilitation goes well.

Ramsey made 35 appearances for Villa last season, contributing six goals and seven assists, with 11 of those goal involvements coming after the appointment of Unai Emery.
Emery took over from Steven Gerrard in November last year and reversed Villa's fortunes. Villa will play in the Europa Conference League next season, and Ramsey will likely miss both the Europa Conference League play-off legs in late August.
Ramsey's injury comes as a major blow for Emery, who is keen to reinforce his squad this summer in the transfer market. Pau Torres is set to become the club's second arrival following Youri Tielemans.
