Swansea City continued their pre-season preparations with hard-fought 0-0 draw with Danish side Brondby in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Fairwood.

As with their 2-0 win over Haverfordwest County on Saturday, boss Michael Duff decided to name two separate line-ups for each half against the Danish giants.

New signing Josh Key sat out the clash with the JD Cymru Premier outfit, but was introduced after the hour-mark as a replacement for Joe Thomas during a combative encounter.

Fellow new signing Josh Ginnelly once again missed out, with Duff revealing in the build-up to his game: “Unfortunately Josh Ginnelly felt his calf on his first day so that’s a frustration for him and for us.

“I don’t know the timescale but it didn’t look a great one."

Meanwhile Kyle Joseph was also absent amid murmurs of a possible move to Blackpool as part of the deal taking Jerry Yates to the Swansea.com Stadium.

The move for Yates is expected to be completed in the next 24 hours, and his imminent arrival is likely to spark questions over Joel Piroe, who was among those who were introduced after the break, following a goalless first half that yielded few clear-cut chances for either side.

A similarly tight affair unfolded after the interval, with the two teams engaging in what was largely a war of attrition in the middle of the park, although there were clearly some positives for Swans boss Duff, most notably a second clean sheet in as many outings.

It was the visitors who came closest to scoring, with the crossbar keeping out a crashing drive from Daniel Wass 18 minutes from time.

Swansea continue their pre-season campaign with another behind-closed-doors friendly against Swindon Town on Saturday, before welcoming fellow Welsh side Newport County to Fairwood on Tuesday.

Their first game in front of fans will be on July 21 when they travel to League One side Oxford United.
