"Everton miss out on Rodrigo. The wages being offered, Everton cannot compete with," one fan resigned. Another added: "To clarify... Everton fans aren't p***ed off that we missed out on Rodrigo... We're p***ed off the fact we still haven't signed a striker!"

Rodrigo is the latest Leeds player to join the mass exodus at Elland Road, as players look to escape the Championship.

Robin Koch completed his loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt, Brenden Aaronson was loaned to Union Berlin, and Marc Roca was also loaned to Real Betis, while Tyler Roberts has joined Birmingham City on a permanent deal.

The Peacocks will also be without Weston McKennie, who has returned to Serie A giants Juventus after his loan move expired.
