John Eustace has confirmed Tahith Chong is on the verge of leaving Birmingham City.
Chong, 23, is poised to join Premier League new boys Luton Town. Eustace omitted Chong from Blues’ training camp in Spain and a deal could be confirmed imminently.
When asked whether Chong will be joining Luton, Eustace told BirminghamLive: “I believe so. He’s come in and he’s been fantastic. He’s really developed throughout the season and in my opinion he’s developed really well.
“It’s what we want to do as a club, we want to develop the player. When we sign players we want them to move into the Premier League. We want them to showcase themselves and he’s done that - it’s all part of what we do. That’s two players we’ve sold this year and it allows the club to bring other players in and help us grow.”

Blues plan to reinvest the reported £4m transfer fee - although a portion of it will go to Chong’s former club Manchester United.
“I’m sure it will be (reinvested),” Eustace added. “We need to bring players in so hopefully that will help us to do that.”
