Fashion Sakala sends Rangers transfer sleuths into overdrive as social media scrub swirls amid 'interest'
The Zambian winger will be in action for his country but remains on the transfer watchlist of interested teams this summer.
Fashion Sakala could be about to scrub Rangers from the history books, with fans noticing a key change to the attacker's social media status.
The Ibrox winger had something of a season renaissance under Michael Beale towards the end of last campaign but has watched Rangers strengthen in his position this summer with new arrivals. While the Light Blues have seen Ryan Kent move for zilch to Fenerbahce, Kieran Dowell and Cryiel Dessers have bolstered the midfield to attacking line while Brighton winger Abdallah Sima will provide direct competition for the Zambian as well as returning crocked winger Ianis Hagi. Sakala was the subject of reported interest from Premier League new boys Burnley last summer but remained at Ibrox.
Now, according to reports Sakala could be lined up for a move worth a reported £4million to Saudi Arabia which would see the 26-year-old follow in the footsteps of ex-Celtic rival Jota who moved to Al-Ittihad this month. And eagle-eyed Gers fans noticed the attacker changed his Twitter profile picture to him playing for his country and that there is now no mention of his domestic club in his bio on the social media platform.
Sakala is due to be in action for Zambia as they take on South Africa in The COSAFA Cup final. The tricky winger did update his followers that the picture was changed, while his Instagram biography still includes mention of Rangers.
Meanwhile Antonio Colak looks set to leave the club in the summer with Serie B side Parma registering an interest in the forward's services. The Croatian was often resigned to the bench under Beale's tenure despite a strong start to the season with Gio Van Bronckhorst.
But the 29-year-old could have his transfer resolve tested as reports suggest a £2.5million bid has launched by the Italian outfit. He finished the campaign with 18 strikes from 39 appearances after arriving at Ibrox last summer in a £1.8million move from Greek side PAOK.
