Birmingham City confirm Tahith Chong transfer as John Eustace delivers parting message
Tahith Chong leaves Birmingham City for Luton Town a year after he joined the club from Manchester United
Birmingham City have sold winger Tahith Chong to Premier League new boys Luton Town.
Chong has left Blues less than a year after he joined the club permanently from Manchester United. The 23-year-old becomes the club's second sale of the summer after Jobe Bellingham joined Sunderland last month.
He leaves having scored five times in 61 appearances for Blues, including his injury-hit loan spell in the 2021/22 season under Lee Bowyer. Blues forked out around £1.5million to sign Chong last summer and have made a significant profit.
Current Blues boss John Eustace fast-forwarded Chong's development last season. The Dutch starlet netted four times and recorded five assists in the Championship, a marked improvement on the previous campaign.

Speaking to BirminghamLive about Chong's exit earlier this week, Eustace said: "He’s come in and he’s been fantastic. He’s really developed throughout the season and in my opinion he’s developed really well.
“It’s what we want to do as a club, we want to develop the player. When we sign players we want them to move into the Premier League. We want them to showcase themselves and he’s done that - it’s all part of what we do. That’s two players we’ve sold this year and it allows the club to bring other players in and help us grow.”
