And with boss Michael Beale now poised to return with a new improved offer for Feyenoord striker Danilo, Colak will be offloaded.

The Croat scored an impressive 13 goals in his first 16 games, before being struck by injury.

He then toiled to get into Beale’s starting line-up with Alfredo Morelos favoured in the second half of last season.

Hitmen Cyriel Dessers, Abdallah Sima and Sam Lammers have already strengthened Gers’ attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

But Beale is determined to land Danilo and was desperate to free up some wages.

The deal with Parma means Gers will recoup the fee they paid PAOK Salonika for Colak’s services last summer.

It will clear the way for the Ibrox side to table an improved bid for Brazlian ace Danilo.

The Dutch club have already rejected one bid and have yet to name their price, but the 24-year-old has made it clear he wants the move.

SunSport understands Gers are confident of striking a deal.

Talks are also ongoing with Los Angeles FC star Jose Cifuentes.

SunSport also revealed that Ibrox chiefs expect the Ecuador cap to be on board before long.

Discussing his transfer plans earlier this month, Beale revealed that he is still eyeing more players before the window slams shut.

He said: "Everyone felt we wanted new faces and freshness and we’ve got that. I’m pleased to say it won’t stop there - there’s maybe two or three more that we’re also looking recruit over the summer.”

Beale has since signed Dessers and Leon Balogun.
