Antonio Colak Rangers transfer exit edges closer as striker 'spotted' in Parma ahead of Serie B switch
Colak is surplus to requirements at Ibrox after the summer arrivals of Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers.
A Rangers exit is edging ever closer for Antonio Colak as he touched down in Parma to complete his switch to Italy.
The Croat was told he could leave the club even before the summer additions of Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers. But now he's heading the other way after the new Light Blues' hitmen checked into the Scottish Premiership. 90s big guns Parma have beaten rivals Pisa to the German-born frontman's signature. Werder Bremen were also linked with the 29-year-old, but he's opted for Serie B.
Images of Colak arriving in the Italian city have emerged online. He's putting the finishing touches to a £2.5million move after an injury hit single season in Govan. He started the last campaign on fire and was Gio van Bronckhorst's main man in attack ahead of the lacklustre Alfredo Morelos. Colak netted the £40million goal that send Rangers through to the Champions League group stage, knocking out PSV Eindhoven in the playoff round.
But the second half of the season saw Colak spend more time on the treatment table and on the bench than on the park. Fitness issues and the arrival of Michael Beale limited his game time and the writing appeared to be on the wall when the new boss began an extensive striker search this summer.
The additions of Lammers and Dessers signalled the end for Colak, especially with Kemar Roofe returning to fitness and Beale still on the trail of Feyenoord forward Danilo. Now Colak is set to continue his career with Parma in the hope of a fresh start overseas.
