And it was revealed last night that the Croatian is on his way out of Ibrox after Parma agreed a £2.5million deal with Rangers over his signature.

The Serie B outfit fended off interest from rivals Pisa for the player and he is now nearing his move after being pictured in Italy today.

Colak, 29, only joined Rangers last summer but is now leaving Glasgow after just 12 months because he doesn't fit into Michael Beale's plans.

The manager is planning to free up some funds to bring in new recruits who suit his style of play, leading to Colak's exit.

Rangers are not plotting a second improved bid for Feyenoord forward Danilo as the Brazilian is high on Beale's shortlist.

The Englishman has already signed Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima to improve his front-line but he is still hopeful of landing Danilo after the Dutch club booted out their first offer.

Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Leon Balogun have all joined the club this summer too.

Beale had a huge rebuild on his hands following the departures of key players Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Malik Tillman.

Colak is now the latest first team star heading for the exit door and there could still be more to come.

The ex-Rijeka and PAOK striker had plenty of options on the table but has opted for Parma as his next move,

Clubs from Germany and the MLS were also keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.
