Rangers transfer state of play on Danilo, Tillman and Trusty as Ryan Kent responds to Fenerbahce deal sceptics

Michael Beale is preparing to showcase his revamped squad at Ibrox against Newcastle United.

It's been a relentless summer for Rangers but Michael Beale doesn't appear to be slowing down when it comes to signings.

An overhauled squad will get their first outing in front of a capacity Ibrox crowd as they face Newcastle United for Allan McGregor's testimonial - with the seven new recruits in with a change to make their debut. It's the first sight many fans will have had of the likes of Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima while more familair faces like Jack Butland and Kieran Dowell will get their first runout after a move from England.

And while the punters will be glad to see the return of football the transfer dealings are far from done with the likes of Jose Cifuentes being touted with a move from LAFC. There has also been high profile exits that followed Allan McGregor out of the door including Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos during a major summer turnover at Ibrox.

But what is the latest? Record Sport gets you up to speed with what comes next amid the major Rangers restoration project being conducted by Beale.

Danilo

Danilo is facing a shifting picture at Feyenoord after Arne Slot shut the door on a move to Rangers until a replacement was found. The two clubs have still to reach an agreement on the size of the Brazilian's fee with Feyenoord holding out for a sum in excess of £6m, but the Ibrox side remain keen on a deal.

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is refusing to let the 24-year-old to leave until he has cover in the Champions League with first choice striker Santiago Giminez suspended for the opening two group games. However, Slot did leave the door open for Mexican international to leave the club off the back of netting the winner for his county in the Gold Cup final against Panama.

That could see Danilo left as the ONLY option to lead the line for the Dutch champions at this stage of the window. Asked about Gimenez's future with his price tag on the rise, he told Voetbal International: "I think it is quite normal that there are quite a few clubs that if they come by we would listen to them.

In terms of recruiting a striker to speed up Danilo's move to Ibrox, one name is doing the rounds in the Netherlands. Ajax and the Eredivise winners are to bring in Keisuke Goto from Jubilo Iwata.

Malik Tillman

Stuttgart are edging closer to a deal for Malik Tillman that would see Rangers land a bumper windfall. Bayern Munich gave Gers the option to buy Tillman when they loaned the playmaker to them last season but Bayern bought back that option and the Light Blues will also get a cut of Tillman’s next sale.

Now a £6million move appears on the cards. German outlet TZ report that the 21-year-old has been allowed to leave Bayern training as his move to Stuttgart edges closer.

Auston Trusty

Reported Rangers target Auston Trusty insists his focus is on pre-season with Arsenal despite talk over an Emirates exit. The defender impressed on loan at Birmingham City in the Championship last season and has been taken to America by Mikel Arteta during the Gunners pre-season tour.

Ahead of the clash with MLS All-Stars the 24-year-old insisted he wasn't looking beyond the run of Premier League warm-up fixtures. Speaking to The Mirror, Trusty insisted his focus was on the Gunners: "My mindset here is to be here, man.

"My mindset has been here since the beginning. So I'm not focused on anything else. I'm focused on day by day. You can ask anybody how I approach things. my mindset has always been focused on day by day. You never can control the future but I'm focusing on myself."

Ryan Kent

Ryan Kent has explained his decision to join Fenerbahce after leaving Rangers. The move for the 26-year-old free agent raised some eyebrows with many expecting the Liverpool academy graduate to return south of the border.

Kent revealed other options were on the table this summer but decided to make the move to Turkey to pursue silverware like when he was at Ibrox - something that wasn't on offer from his other suitors. He told bein Sports about the surprise move: "I wanted to think long and hard (about the transfer) and didn't want anyone to influence my decision during this process.

"In our meetings with the club, they informed me about the club's goals. I come from a team like Glasgow Rangers. I come from a team where the fans expect you to win. I wanted to continue at that level.

"There were other offers from Europe, but I wanted to come to a team that is trying to win trophies and championships. In that sense, Fenerbahce was a really good option for me."
