David Goodwillie joins ninth-tier side as club says rapist footballer ‘deserves a chance’

DAVID GOODWILLIE'S latest club say that the rapist footballer "deserves a chance."
The 34-year old striker has been spotted turning out for NINTH tier club Glasgow United.
Goodwillie was ruled to be a rapist in a civil court case in 2017.
He was ordered to pay £100,000 in damages by a judge over the incident in West Lothian six years previously.
Following the civil court ruling, Goodwillie was signed by Clyde and went on to spend five years with the club.
However, his high-profile move to Raith Rovers in January 2022 saw a major backlash from supporters and backers of the club.

His contract was eventually ripped-up with Goodwillie having never appeared for the club.
A loan return to Clyde was also scrapped after another backlash.
Since then, Goodwillie has seen moves to clubs in Scotland and England collapse, with a recent transfer to Australian outfit Sorrento FC also falling through.
The club performed a major U-turn on Goodwillie's signing, pulling out of the deal just hours after announcing his arrival.

In a statement released to the BBC, Glasgow United say they believe Goodwillie "deserves a chance."
However, the club have yet to confirm the exact arrangement with Goodwillie or if he has signed a contract to officially join.
They said: "After listening to David and meeting his young family and the rejection he has had from numerous clubs who pulled out of signing him after sponsors made threats to pull out we thought he deserves a chance.
"All he wants is to be left in peace and be allowed to play the game he loves.
"We are a club who has a number of members with varying needs we look after in different ways we don't just turn people away."
