Fred sends Alex Telles message as defender seals Manchester United exit

Defender Telles has left Man United to move to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr

Alex Telles has completed a move away from Manchester United and has headed to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old was destined to depart Old Trafford this summer and was not part of Erik ten Hag's future plans. He had a year left on his United contract and the Reds have opted to cash in on the Brazilian left-back.

He was down the pecking order at United, behind the likes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Telles spent last season on loan at Spanish side Sevilla, winning the Europa League.

He has now sealed a switch to Al Nassr where he will link up with former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. The defender has taken to Instagram to post a departing message to the Reds.

Telles wrote: "Effort, hard work, dedication, talent, dedication, faith! I don't know any different recipe in life to achieve and carry out our projects.

"When I arrived at United, I realised my dream of playing in one of the biggest clubs in the world. A giant with some amazing fans.

"A city where I made friends and was very happy. Today I close this incredible chapter in my journey, but rest assured that, as I always did in my career, I honored every moment of training and second game with the United shirt. Thank you, Manchester, thank you United."

His compatriot Fred, who himself could be on the move this summer with interest from fellow Premier League side Fulham, responded to the post. He has paid tribute to the left-back, admitting it was a 'pleasure' to play alongside him.

The midfielder wrote: "You are a phenomenon brother, it was a pleasure to play alongside you! Flyeeee."
