Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp calls 4-4 comeback draw against Greuther Furth in pre-season friendly a 'spectacular result'... despite narrowly avoiding defeat against the second-tier German minnows!
- Liverpool drew 4-4 with Greuther Furth in their second pre-season friendly
- Jurgen Klopp's side were exposed defensively by the second tier German side
- The performances of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will give Klopp optimism
Liverpool needed a late equaliser from Mo Salah to avoid an embarrassing defeat against Bundesliga 2 side Greuther Furth but Jurgen Klopp is not worried.
The Reds concluded their Germany camp with an entertaining yet rather unimpressive display but Klopp insists the 4-4 thriller was mainly the result of tiredness.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com post-match, Klopp said: 'Spectacular result… a lot of good football situations, obviously we could have scored in the first half already, that was all good.
'Of course nobody wants to concede four goals but you saw in the second half we tried to have a playing build-up and we were too late in mind, passed the balls too late, first touch not good, and that's how we brought them back into the game. Scored on the other hand really, really nice goals, to be honest.
'So, a lot of good individual performances and that's most important, that we have like 50-ish minutes for everybody and, again, nobody got injured. A good camp and I'm really happy.'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not concerned by his side shipping four goals in their friendly

Mohamed Salah (second from left) rescued a draw after scoring in the closing minutes of play
Liverpool led 3-1 in the second half after a Darwin Nunez brace added to Luis Diaz’s opener.
But questions must be asked of their defence as the Germans scored three goals in quick succession to go 4-3 ahead. Salah then scored the 89th-minute equaliser.
In general, Klopp is delighted with how his team's trip to Germany has played out.
'The camp was top, absolutely top-class – we cannot say differently,' added the manager.
'And if we can, we will try to come back because the circumstances were perfect, we could do everything we wanted to do.
'We got massive support from the local club, SV Aasen, they were really, really helpful, so that was nice.
'It's really nice that Greuther Furth came here to play us, because for us we are now on the way home pretty much and it was quite a trip for them to get here.
'But I think the few people that were here and everybody [watching] on the screen… I know nobody wants to concede four goals, but at least there were eight goals! Like I said, it's OK.'
