David Marshall LOSES Hibs captaincy as Lee Johnson appoints new Easter Road skipper

GOALKEEPER David Marshall has been replaced as Hibs captain for the upcoming season.
Boss Lee Johnson has taken the armband off of the Scotland hero and given it BACK to the man he took it from last year.
Long-serving defender Paul Hanlon will skipper the Hibees in the upcoming campaign.
Hanlon, 33, had still been "club captain" last season but it was Marshall - installed as "team captain" - who led the team on the pitch.
38-year old goalie Marshall was appointed skipper when he moved to Easter Road on a two-year deal last summer.
But it's Hanlon who will be leading the team next season.

Despite stripping Marshall of the armband, Hibs boss Lee Johnson has insisted the keeper remains a "key part of the leadership group" at the club.
Johnson said: “We made the decision to name Paul as our captain for the upcoming season due to his long-standing history with the club and his positional impact on the pitch.
“It’s clear for everyone to see that Paul is extremely trusted, that he has strong leadership and communication skills, and by playing in the centre of defence it allows him to get messages around the whole team quickly and effectively.
“I would like to thank Marsh for the role he did as captain last year and he still remains a key part of the leadership group.

“He has extensive experience, is heavily respected in the dressing room, and those qualities will continue to help set the standard within the team.
“We have a number of players that show leadership skills and those guys, alongside Paul and Marsh, will play a vital role in helping to drive this group on.”
Hanlon skippered the team during the recent friendly with Groningen and will remain captain for the season ahead.
As for Marshall, there's plenty of competition to be Hibs' starting goalkeeper this season.
Ex-Celtic stopper Marshall played in all 38 league matches last season, but will be up against two new signings to be No.1 this season.
Hibs brought in Ghana international Jojo Wollacott from Charlton, as well as Maksymilian Boruc - cousin of Celtic hero Artur - from Slask Wroclaw in Poland.
