Arnaut Danjuma will start for Everton in the club’s final pre-season friendly away from Goodison Park.

The attacker, the second and most recent Blues signing of the summer, looks set to lead the front line in the strongest starting XI named by Sean Dyche so far. Dyche appears set to return to the 4-5-1 system he favoured last season, with Ashley Young starting at left back and Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeil on the wings.

James Garner will start in the middle alongside Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure, Garner making his first appearance since his return from winning the Under-21s Euros with England.

The inclusion of Nathan Patterson suggests Garner will be in his favoured central position after finishing the season - and playing for England - at right back.

James Tarkowski captains the side despite the involvement of Jordan Pickford - suggesting he could wear the armband in the absence of club captain Seamus Coleman. Michael Keane starts alongside him once again with Jarrad Branthwaite on the bench.

Amadou Onana, Neal Maupay and Ben Godfrey are the other senior players on the bench - meaning there is no Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the squad.

STARTING XI: Pickford, Patterson, Tarkowski, Keane, Young; Iwobi, Gueye, Garner, Doucoure, McNeil; Danjuma.

BENCH: Joao Virginia, Billy Crellin, Onana, Maupay, Godfrey, Branthwaite, Mackenzie Hunt, Lewis Dobbin and Tyler Onyango.
