Unai Emery has confirmed Aaron Ramsey will be unavailable for Aston Villa’s final Premier League Summer Series friendly against Brentford on Sunday, while Emi Buendia is set to be assessed after missing training this morning.

Villa could be crowned the winners of the inaugural Premier League Summer Series by beating Brentford and also at least matching Chelsea’s margin of victory over Fulham. Emery’s side drew 3-3 with Newcastle United in Philadelphia last Sunday, before beating Fulham 2-0 in Orlando at the Exploria Stadium.

The match this weekend will be played at FedExField in Maryland and it will be Villa’s fourth friendly of the summer. They will return to the UK early next week ahead of a match with Lazio at the Bescot on Thursday. Then, on Saturday, Villa are in Spain playing Valencia a week before their Premier League campaign kick-off at St. James’ Park against Newcastle United.
