Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier lead Newcastle United squad's tributes to Allan Saint-Maximin

Newcastle United have bid farewell to Allan Saint-Maximin

Newcastle United players have taken to social media in their droves to both thank Allan Saint-Maximin and wish him all the best after his departure was confirmed this weekend. The French winger has joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli for an undisclosed fee, bringing an end to his Tyneside tenure.

Saint-Maximin spent four years at St. James' Park and will leave a lasting memory with black and white supporters. The 26-year-old had an incredible rapport with Magpies' supporters both on and off the pitch.

For what he lacked in consistency, he made up for brilliant gestures to fans and kindness off the pitch. Speaking after joining his new club, Al-Ahli tweeted: "I really want to express my gratitude to Al Ahli Football Club who have done so much for me and my family by offering us this opportunity and this really challenging project in a Saudi League that gets more and more competitive.

"I am eager to meet each and every one of you! Can’t wait to experience the energy that you, the fans, will bring to the stadium because I heard a lot about it! I will do my best to entertain you and above all to make the club succeed!"
