Fans see David Moyes morph into Matt Le Tissier in lost ice bucket challenge clip
An old clip showing at-the-time Manchester United manager David Moyes being covered in freezing cold water has re-emerged as fans pointed out a strange resemblance
Fans joked that David Moyes morphed into Matt Le Tissier in an old ice bucket challenge clip.
A viral video of the West Ham manager from 2014 has re-emerged on social media, showing him doused in freezing cold water as part of the fundraising social media craze.
Moyes, at the time manager of Manchester United, was nominated by Marouane Fellaini to be drenched while being recorded in a bid to raise money and awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
He was just one of countless sportspeople and celebrities involved in the challenge, smiling gleefully as he awaited the dreaded bucket. But he was soon left screaming and, in the eyes of many viewers, looking bizarrely like controversial former Sky Sports pundit Le Tissier.

Moyes’ facial expression and soaked hair prompted fans to point out the resemblance as they were left in tears of laughter, years after the clip was initially posted on social media.
Several Twitter users wrote: “Why does he turn into Matt Le Tissier?”
Another tweeted: “He goes from Moyes to Le Tissier in the blink of an eye,” while a third added: “Best magic trick I’ve seen in ages. David Moyes into Matt Le Tissier.”
Moyes enjoyed the most spectacular accomplishment of his managerial career last season when he won the Europa Conference League with West Ham. The Irons beat Fiorentina 2-1 in Prague, before the Scotsman let loose by celebrating on the pitch, dancing in the dressing room and swinging his Hammers scarf on the open-top bus parade.
Meanwhile, former Southampton legend Le Tissier recently stirred up controversy again by appearing to blame the Covid-19 vaccine for pundit Shaka Hislop’s collapse on live TV. The conspiracy enthusiast cited Hislop’s worrying fall as “not normal” while quote-tweeting a video from an account that linked it to the coronavirus jab.
