Diego Costa could be on his way back to Brazil as he considers interest in his services after leaving Wolves at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea striker was released on a free from Molineux after a one-season contract in which he scored once in 16 league starts and seven substitute appearances. Spanish outlet Marca says the experienced forward favours a return to Brazil and has been made an offer by Vasco da Gama as well as receiving interest from Europe and Saudi Arabia.

The Brazil-born, Spain international joined Wolves as a free agent in September as they became the latest club to add to an impressive CV. He won the La Liga title with Atletico Madrid in 2013/14 and helped them reach the final of the Champions League.

He moved to Chelsea and won two Premier League titles with them before returning to Atletico Madrid where he won another La Liga title and the Europa League. He moved on to Atletico Minero in Brazil, winning a league and cup double before joining a Wolves side then managed by Bruno Lage.

Although Costa struggled for goals with Wolves he was in a side that didn’t create a lot as they plunged into a relegation battle under Lage before recovering under Julen Lopetegui to finish 13th . That was despite only scoring 31 league goals as a team, the lowest total in the Premier League.

Costa is not the only striker to leave Wolves this summer. Raul Jimenez joined Fulham for £5.5m last week, leaving Fabio Silva, Matheus Cunha and Sasa Kalajdzic to compete for the central striking roles.
