Kenny Miller can see a Rangers title win being delivered next May as he weighs up the state of play in Glasgow ahead of the new campaign.

Brendan Rodgers has taken over a Treble-winning side in the Premiership champions as he looks for similar success to his first Hoops boss stint. But Michael Beale will be keen to ensure his counterpart isn't a returning hero by ensuring silverware makes its way back to Rangers.

Record Sport columnist and former striker Miller thinks swapping Ange Postecoglou for Rodgers might be an upgrade in the eyes of some, but he can't help but shake the feeling that the arrivals of Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Maik Nawrocki are shots in the dark. Beale's 9-man overall that includes Jack Butland, Cyriel Dessers, Danilo and most recently Jose Cifuentes, however, leaves him predicting that Rangers will be victorious in the title race come May.

He told Clyde SSB: "You are looking a serial-winning team in Celtic. There's been a change of manager and arguably a change for the better.

"I felt the summer recruitment is a little bit odd in relation to the players they have signed. I don't think there's anybody really who would excite Celtic fans whereas Rangers have had to rebuild, revamp, refresh, whatever you want to call it.

"I think there are some exciting names there and it will be tight. I am obviously going to edge to the blue side of Glasgow, I don't have to but I am going to. I am excited by the frontline of this Rangers team and the addition of Cifuentes alongside (Nicolas) Raskin it is from middle to front especially, it looks very exciting."
