His return to Rangers in 2018 saw him take the number one jersey and he was named in the 2018/19 PFA Scotland Team of the Year.

He helped the side win their first title in a decade and inspired them to a great Europa League run in 2022 where the Gers reached the final.

But he hasn’t strayed too far from his old side as he was pictured at Rugby Park this weekend.

Michael Beale‘s men fell to an opening day 1-0 defeat which was watched by McGregor in the stands.

The stopper donned a navy blue suit with an orange tie but decided to go SOCKLESS for the trip.

Wearing tan coloured slip on shoes, he decided to leave his socks at home!

He was awarded with a testimonial match just under one month ago when Rangers took on Newcastle at Ibrox which brought his illustrious career with the club to an end.

McGregor was a product of the Rangers youth system and made first senior debut in 2002.

He was sent out on loan and remained back up to Stefan Klos and Lionel Letizi but made the goalkeeper spot his in 2006.

But his spell at Rangers was met with disappointment as he conceded that his team hadn’t won enough in recent years.

He said: “I wish there were more, I’m not going to lie.

“Without wanting to sound negative here, we have won two trophies from a possible 15 in the last five years – 16 if you include the Europa League final – and that is not enough for this club.

“At Rangers there always has to be a standard where every game and every trophy is a must-win.

“I try to do my best to get that through to people, that you must be consistently winning leagues and winning cups. We need to get back to that as soon as possible.

“But winning the club’s 55th title was something very special to me and I’ll never forget that.”
