FORMER Celtic boss Martin O’Neill was compared to Rod Stewart after a hilarious Carabao Cup draw performance where he appeared to be speaking into the BALLS rather than the microphone.

The former Premier League manager was on punditry duty for the draw following Leicester City‘s win over Burton Albion.

During the draw, O’Neill, alongside former Foxes captain Wes Morgan, started to reveal the teams from the pot.

However, as he took the balls he started to put them to his mouth and appeared to talk into them as if they were the microphone.

After spotting the gaffe during Stoke’s draw against Rotherham, presenter Mark Chapman was left laughing as he said: “Martin, I don’t know why you are talking to the ball.”

Fans were also left in stitches after seeing the moment as they took to social media.
