Juventus have threatened to challenge Manchester United for the signing of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to a new report.
Erik ten Hag's side have made midfield recruitment their next target, with Amrabat thought to be high on the wishlist, partially because of his work with Morocco at the World Cup.
While they were thought to be at the front of the race to sign £30m-rated Amrabat from Fiorentina, another Serie A club is thought to be tabling an offer which would allow the Moroccan to stay in Italy.
Sport Mediaset report that Juventus are keen on recruiting Amrabat, to fill a hole left by Swiss midfielder Denis Zakaria, who looks set to join Ligue 1 Monaco on a permanent basis for £17.25m.
In addition to the transfer fee for Zakaria, Juventus will get a 20% cut of any future sale price too.

Amrabat helped Morocco reach the semi-finals of the men's World Cup in Qatar last year

Juventus would use Amrabat to fill a hole left by Denis Zakaria, who looks set to join Monaco
Zakaria was on loan at Chelsea last season, and looks set to move away from Juventus rather than trying to reacclimatise to his old club - and this is making Juventus consider alternative options.
Amrabat's contract at Fiorentina expires next summer, and the 26-year-old is believed to be available for a cut-price £30m as the club look to recoup, rather than letting him leave for nothing in less than 12 months time.
Dutch-born Amrabat would provide stern competition at either Man United or Juventus, having appeared in 49 games for Fiorentina in all competitions during 2023-24.
The midfielder has been on the books at Fiorentina for four years, and made 15 European appearances as they reached the Europa Conference League final.
He also helped Morocco become the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the men's World Cup in Qatar last year.
