Aston Villa consider hijacking Jack Harrison's loan move to Everton after Emiliano Buendia's knee injury, with the Leeds winger yet to agree a deal after undergoing a medical on Merseyside

Jack Harrison is a possible late target for Aston Villa despite the Leeds winger having a medical at Everton. 

Villa desperately need a wide player after Emiliano Buendia sustained knee ligament damage in training last week, which will mean a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Harrison nearly joined Leicester last January and is admired by a number of Premier League clubs following Leeds’ relegation last season.

He missed Leeds’ 1-0 defeat at Birmingham on Saturday due to injury but the problem is not thought to be long-term.

If the 26-year-old does return to the Premier League, he could be a handy addition after scoring 21 goals in the past three seasons.

He also picked up 10 assists across competitions last season despite playing in a struggling Leeds side. 

Villa also fear Tyrone Mings has suffered serious damage to his knee with the defender facing a lengthy absence that adds to the club’s mounting injury crisis.

The England centre back was carried off on a stretcher after 31 minutes and became the fourth key first-team player out of action, with Alex Moreno, Jacob Ramsey and Emiliano Buendia also on the sidelines.

They were due to learn more on Mings’ injury on Sunday.
