Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Al-Hilal are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Saudi Arabian club had multiple bids rejected for Mitrovic earlier in the transfer window, leading to the player becoming frustrated with Fulham's refusal to sanction his departure.

Mitrovic allegedly vowed to never play for the club again and spent time away from his teammates at the start of their pre-season tour of the United States.

The 28-year-old was subsequently reintegrated into the first-team squad, seemingly suggesting that he would remain a Fulham player for the 2023-24 season.

However, a recent report revealed that the Saudi Pro League side were set to revive their interest in the striker.

According to The Guardian, Al-Hilal have reopened talks with Fulham and are closing in on agreeing a deal to sign Mitrovic.

Mitrovic is keen to complete a move to the Middle East and has already agreed personal terms with Jorge Jesus's side.

In a separate update, ESPN claims that Al-Hilal have submitted a £46m proposal for Mitrovic, which is believed to be close to Fulham's asking price.

The Serbia international, who joined the Cottagers in 2018, still has three years left to run on his current contract.

During his time with the club, the Serbian has won promotion to the Premier League on two occasions and scored 111 goals in 206 appearances.

Al-Hilal are determined to make Mitrovic their latest summer addition after announcing the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The Brazil international arrived for a reported £86m fee, penning a lucrative two-year deal which is believed to be worth a total of $300m (£236m).

Neymar has followed in the footsteps of Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom, who have all joined Al-Hilal this summer.
