Rangers eye Ronnie Edwards but face battle with THREE EPL clubs for England Under-20 World Cup star

RANGERS are tracking Peterborough United stopper Ronnie Edwards with a view to a potential bid this transfer window.
But they face major competition from Premier League Crystal Palace who have already had several offers rejected for the 20-year-old while other top flight sides West Ham and Bournemouth are watching him closely.
SunSport understands senior scout Mervyn Day has watched the highly rated England youth ace numerous times and was also present for League One Posh’s 3-1 win at Barnsley last night.
Day’s strongly recommended Edwards to boss Michael Beale who is still seeking to strengthen at the back over the next fortnight.
The youngster won the Euro championship with England’s under-19 side 13 months ago as they beat Israel in the final.
Edwards also represented the Three Lions’ under-20s in June’s World Cup which saw them lose to Italy in the last 16.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has made him one of his first picks and over three years he’s already made 92 appearances, with 44 alone last season and 34 in the Championship the season before when he also faced Manchester City in the FA Cup.
Club owner Darragh MacAnthony recently said of the starlet: “It’s an absolute joke Ronnie is still here,
“We are all amazed and it’s not because we are being greedy or silly.
“He’s now far too good for us and I don’t believe he will still be with us when the season starts as he is made for some of the teams in the Premier League.
