Manchester United's Under-21s will welcome Leeds to Old Trafford in a Premier League 2 fixture on Friday.

The U21s began their PL2 season with a 3-2 defeat against Crystal Palace earlier in the week. The points looked set to be shared in that game, but the London club scored a late goal with just minutes remaining to claim the victory.

Just a few days after that defeat, Travis Binnion's side have the chance to respond against historic rivals Leeds at Old Trafford. The game will kick off at 7pm and it will also be shown live on MUTV.

Erik ten Hag has said about the match: "I think it is great for the fans to see our players who are not yet in front of them. "They are playing in the Under-21s, but they are not far away and on short notice they can line up in the first team.

"It is a great opportunity to see them and for the players, it is very important because they already have then the experience of playing at Old Trafford. That ambience that will help them for the moment they line up in the first team."

Thank you for following our coverage tonight.

Ten Hag might have two youngsters ready for first-team

Hannibal Mejbri had been fouled more than any other Manchester United player on the pitch and he kept on pulling the strings.

There was a moment just before half-time when Hannibal was cynically sent to the floor and he responded by quickly dusting himself off and playing a beautifully weighted 40-yard pass to the left where Omari Forson was waiting.

The pocket of supporters in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand burst into applause but unfortunately, the move came to nothing. Leeds were already ahead at that stage thanks to their early goal and United's Under-21s were searching for an equaliser.
