Divock Origi is reportedly being eyed for a potential loan return to the Premier League.

Sheffield United are understood to be looking into the prospect of recruiting the former Liverpool man, who left Anfield to join Milan last year.

The Blades have endured a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign following promotion from the Championship last season.

A 1-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace in their opening game was followed by a 2-1 loss at Nottingham Forest on Friday.

With just one goal from their first two matches, there's a clear feeling that Paul Heckingbottom needs more firepower in his attack, especially after the sale of Iliman Ndiaye to Marseille.

Therefore, according to SunSport, Sheffield United are looking into a shock loan deal for Origi.

The Belgian spent eight years at Liverpool between 2014 and 2022.

Fondly regarded by the fans as a cult hero, Origi was renowned at Anfield for coming up with important goals - none more so than in the 2019 Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, then final against Tottenham.

Sheffield United would no doubt be hoping for a similar impact, were a loan deal to be completed.
