USMNT star Folarin Balogun breaks silence amid Arsenal situation with cryptic message

The 22-year-old is clearly not in Mikel Arteta's immediate plans as he looks for a move away from the club

Arsenal star and USMNT international Folarin Balogun has given supporters another insight into his possible exit from the club this summer with a cryptic message on his social media.

The 22-year-old has fallen far down the pecking order with the Gunners under manager Mikel Arteta, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah taking up a majority of the minutes as the main frontmen to lead their challenge for the Premier League title.

His drop in game time comes following a highly successful loan move to Reims last season which saw him bag 21 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances, with only Jonathan David (24), Alexandre Lacazette (27) and Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappe (29) ahead of him.

Since coming back to North London, rumours have swirled about him finding a move away from the Emirates Stadium, with many big teams around Europe showing interest in taking him on.

AS Monaco had a £34 million bid rejected by Arsenal and while there were reports of them coming back with an improved offer, that is yet to materialise into anything significant. There were also surprise reports linking him to London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham - both of whom would have match the £50m price tag on his head.

The star's future looks increasingly bleak in recent hours as reports have surfaced claiming that the Gunners are looking at a potential swoop for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, a move which'd almost certainly see his limited minutes drop even further.

But now, the USMNT striker has given fans a view into what his latest training session has looked like - and it doesn't look particularly enjoyable.

Posting to his Instagram stories, Balogun showed off an empty gym, seemingly working on his fitness. With no caption, the image simply hade a 'thumbs up' emoji in the middle.

The star can be seen in the reflection of the mirror in front of him with no one else around, potentially proving a point to the staff of him training alone or simply keeping his fitness up in order to stay healthy if an exit eventually arrives in the transfer window.

Balogun did train alone during the squad's training camp at the Los Angeles Rams training facility on their pre-season tour of the USA, and this could be a continuation of that as he looks for a move away from North London.

With only just over a week left until the transfer window shuts however, time appears to running out for a deal to work be done in the 22-year-old's favour.
