Everton could make big Jarrad Branthwaite decision as Arnaut Danjuma ready for chance

A look at the starting 11 changes Sean Dyche could consider for Everton's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Following Everton’s dismal 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa, Sean Dyche has a series of potential selection posers to consider ahead of Saturday’s home game against fellow strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Both sides have lost each of their opening fixtures so far in the Premier League so something will have to give when they meet at Goodison Park. Dyche certainly has plenty of food for thought when it comes to picking his own team.

At centre-back, Michael Keane and stand-in captain James Tarkowski were both caught out of position for Villa’s two goals while the former could arguably be deemed to be personally culpable for the third and fourth due to individual errors.

There has already been a clamour among certain elements of Everton’s fanbase to give Jarrad Branthwaite a chance after his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven but although Dyche acknowledged after the 1-0 loss to Fulham that “we like what we have seen so far and we’re just getting used to him,” the 21-year-old is yet to figure while Ben Godfrey who was also on the bench in the West Midlands is another candidate to come in.

Returning to his former club, Ashley Young also endured a torrid time with Villa’s first goal coming down his flank and his ill-judged throw-in putting the visiting defence into danger for the fourth - so his place could be under threat from the fit-again Vitalii Mykolenko.

Up front, Dominic Calvert-Lewin made his long-awaited return to the side but was forced off in the first half after he suffered a facial injury following his collision with Emiliano Martinez and could now face another spell on the sidelines.

Arnaut Danjuma impressed in difficult circumstances after coming on while Alex Iwobi also went off in the second half through injury, making way for Neal Maupay.

Meanwhile, Lewis Dobbin came on for the second weekend in succession to be deployed out wide so there are several attacking alternatives for the manager to consider.
