The agent for Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto has accused the club of "blocking" a transfer amid continued attention from Everton.

The Italy international has been subject to sustained interest from the Blues over the summer, with two bids turned down already for the forward.

Everton remain admirers of Gnonto, although Leeds appear insistent on keeping him at Elland Road. The 19-year-old has made himself unavailable for multiple matches this season for the Yorkshire club in an effort to force a move and last week he handed in an official transfer request.

Nevertheless, Leeds remain adamant that they will not cash in on the Azzurri starlet, that despite the fact he has been training away from the first-team squad and has faced abuse from supporters in recent weeks. The club also put out an official statement in which they reaffirmed their stance.

Now the player's representative has got involved in the saga. In a radio interview with Radio Sportiva (h/t LeedsLive) - Gnonto's agent Claudio Vigorelli accused Leeds of blocking requests from interested clubs.

"The situation is complicated," he said. "Leeds are blocking the requests we have in the Premier League."

The Blues are still desperate to improve their attacking options, having struggled for long spells of the previous campaign in front of goal. Sean Dyche's side have also failed to score in their first two games of the new season - defeats to Fulham and Aston Villa - and lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury again at Villa Park on Sunday.

They have already added Youssef Chermiti, Arnaut Danjuma, Jack Harrison and Ashley Young to their squad this summer, while Southampton striker Che Adams has been subject to an offer from the Blues.
