Everton open talks for Beto transfer as release clause price emerges
Everton have opened discussions with Udinese Calcio over a deal for striker Beto Betuncal.
Strengthening Sean Dyche’s attacking options was Everton’s priority heading into this summer's transfer window, and the club have already recruited Youssef Chermiti, Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma in a bid to help solve their struggles in front of goal.

Gnonto offered Leeds redemption
Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto has been warned that he won’t be given a third chance after apologising for his recent behaviour.
Gnonto has been the subject of multiple bids by Everton this summer after making his desire to leave the Elland Road club clear. However, all the Blues’ offers have been rejected by Leeds, who released a public statement earlier this month stating the Italy under-21 international would not be sold this summer.
However, in a bid to try and force through a move, Gnonto first withdrew from the squad for the games against West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City before submitting a formal transfer request last week.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke ordered Gnonto to train by himself; however, he was allowed to re-join the group earlier this week, and now, after further talks with his boss, the 19-year-old is set to be reintegrated into the side.
"At the beginning of the week, he (Gnonto) came to see me to explain his thoughts," Farke said on Thursday. "He apologised; he made a mistake.
"We must not forget we’re speaking about a 19-year-old boy. I had an understanding that he was distracted by offers. He is an Italy international, and he has concerns about the national team.
"What is not acceptable is that he is not professional, saying he’s not ready to play when we ask him to play. You have to show some steel or resilience. Not to play is not acceptable.
"When a player behaves like this, you have to make sure as a club you’re not blackmailed. You send a message to the players who are here and the outside world that no-one plays games with Leeds United. We don’t rely on one player. This is the way you should lead a club.
"If Willy has learned his lesson — he has apologised — then I’m always open to give such a young player a second chance. He also 100 percent knows there is no third chance. Right now, it’s up to him to win all the love, the trust and support back. The ball is in his court."

Everton to celebrate life of Michael Jones with touching tribute as family thank fans for support
Everton Football Club will celebrate the life of Michael Jones with a touching tribute both before and during the Toffees' clash with Wolves at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Jones, from Kirkby, died after an incident at the construction site of Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock on Monday, August 14, with worldwide tributes pouring in after his passing.
The 26-year-old was a huge Evertonian, travelling home and away to follow the Blues in action, and his family have given the club special permission to honour him before the match with Wolves at 3pm on Saturday, August 26.
There will be a period of applause before the game kicks off, before another applause organised by supporters on 26 minutes, which will be supported by the club inside the stadium with images of Michael on the screen at Goodison.

Reports: Everton make an offer for Udinese's Beto
According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have made an offer for Udinese forward Beto.
The Blues are reported to have submitted an offer in the region of €25/26m for the 25-year-old, who is claimed to have a release clause of €35m.
Romano adds that Everton sources "feel that’s not enough now to convince Udinese".

ICYMI: Farhad Moshiri future, new stadium, transfer spend - what MSP Sports Capital blow means for Everton
For some months the investment saga involving Everton has been of significant focus.
The Toffees, with a stadium build that still needs to find the remainder of its funding and with a club that is in need of recapitalising through an equity sale by owner Farhad Moshiri, after several bruising financial years where cumulative losses of more than £430m over five years have forced austerity that has impinged competitive ambition, appeared close to a solution.
Having engaged with numerous parties over the past 18 months, from the Maciek Kaminski/Peter Kenyon/John Thornton consortium, to American investment firm 777 Partners, Moshiri eventually entered into a period of exclusivity with MSP Sports Capital, a New York-based investment firm ran by industry veterans Jahm Najafi and Jeffrey Moorad with a strong track record of sports investment.
MSP, who have stakes in the McLaren Formula One racing team as well as the extreme sport competition ‘X-Games’, and indirect interest in a number of European football clubs such as FC Augsburg and Brondby, had been seen as the solution to Everton’s immediate problems, even if it wasn’t the panacea for all that ailed the club.
Back in June, filings made with the US Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that, dated June 20, a new company, MSP EFC Investors LC, had raised $165.5m (£130.2m) from a pool of 13 investors and submitted a ‘Form D’.
Sean Dyche explains Che Adams transfer problem and impact of MSP Everton deal
Sean Dyche says that MSP Sports Capital's decision to withdraw from investment talks won't impact Everton's striker search.
The Blues remain in talks with Southampton over the prospect of signing their forward Che Adams. Further reports have linked Udinese attacker Beto with a switch to Goodison Park.
Arnaut Danjuma and Youssef Chermiti are among the summer acquisitions to Dyche's squad, but his focus remains on further bolstering strike options - with Dominic Calvert-Lewin set to miss Everton's encounter with Wolves on Saturday.
Dyche reaffirmed that there is a lot more that goes into getting transfers over the line but the challenge remains constructing a deal that all parties can agree to.
On Wednesday, it emerged that MSP Sports Capital had decided to withdraw from their talks to take a minority stake in the club. The New York-based group reached an exclusivity agreement in May, but a stumbling block emerged that curtailed the deal.

Everton injury team news
Sean Dyche has confirmed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alex Iwobi will miss Everton's clash with Wolves as summer signing Jack Harrison is yet to join first-team training.
"First things first, he's seeing a specialist tomorrow because there was a lot of swelling," he told reporters.
"The specialist advised before he checked it properly, he needs the swelling to settle down. Unfortunately, he will miss the weekend but that's part of him getting the right answer and protocols we have to answer."
He added: "Al [Alex Iwobi] hurt his hamstring, it was evident to all. It's not going to be days, probably a few weeks, we'll see as it heals."
On loan Leeds United winger Harrison, is stepping up his fitness ahead of his Everton bow. However, the Blues boss admitted that, while he is progressing in his recovery, he is yet to train with his teammates.
Dyche added: "Jack [Harrison] is going well, he's out on the grass but he's not training with us yet. He's going well in general, feels well in himself so that's good news."

Make the Everton away kit your next summer signing!
Everton’s 2023/24 away kit has fused two cult looks of the early Premier League era.
The coral and navy offering takes its colour scheme and vertical stripes from the ‘salmon pink’ away kit worn by the club from 1992 to 1994, while the change strip of the following two years – 1994 to 1996 – provides the inspiration for its bold, striking pattern.
Like its home equivalent, an all-black away goalkeeper strip pays homage to the unique relationship between St Luke’s Church and Goodison Park. A silhouette pattern – angled across the front of the shirt – depicts the point where the church and Everton’s home for the past 131 years meet.
Everton favourites to sign Che Adams
Everton remain favourites to sign Southampton striker Che Adams, according to bookmakers.
The Saints talisman continues to train with the St Mary's club amid interest surrounding his future.
Russell Martin has bid farewell to a number of high profile players in recent weeks, including James Ward-Prowse and Romeo Lavia.

Everton takeover latest
Two overseas groups have presented financial packages to Everton owner Farhad Moshiri.
According to Alan Myers, a North American group and company in Asia want to take a stake. He adds that there is hope a bid will be accepted next week, although it is unclear whether it is the North American or the Asian business or both are hopeful.
The news comes after MSP Sports Capital withdrew from investment talks.

Everton open Beto talks
Alan Myers has reported that Everton have opened talks with Udinese striker Beto.
The Brazilian forward has been linked with the Blues for a number of months as they look to strengthen their forward options.
The Sky Sports reporter added that any deal is unlikely to be completed this week, in time for their clash with Wolves on Saturday.

Southampton eye attacking reinforcements
Southampton are reportedly ready to submit a joint bid for Swansea City's Joel Piroe and Nathan Wood.
According to Football Insider, Russell Martin is looking to reunite with his former players at St Mary's as he looks to guide the Saints back to the Premier League.
The note to eye a striking addition could be linked to the ongoing interest from Everton in their star forward Che Adams.

Hugo Ekitike wants AC Milan move
PSG forward Hugo Ekitike reportedly wants a move to AC Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Everton were interested in bringing the forward to the Premier League on loan from the Ligue 1 side.
Talks were underway but it appears the attacker is intent on making the switch to Serie A.

Everton must pay £40m for Wilfried Gnonto
That is according to Dean Jones of Give Me Sport who has said that Everton could lure Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United for the hefty fee.
The Italian has not featured for the Elland Road side since the first game of the season. Leeds have remained firm in their stance that the 19-year-old is for sale.
Gnonto requested a transfer from the Championship side following interest from the Blues, he has been out of the training group in recent weeks. However, he returned to Daniel Farke's side following talks.
Jones told Give Me Sport: "Everton would not go above £25m. Leeds are not considering that because of how wild the market has been this summer. It’s going to take close to £40m. There aren’t many clubs that are going to go there."

"We share the concerns of fellow Evertonians"
Everton Fan Advisory Board has expressed their concerns on the back of reports that MSP Sports Capital have withdrawn from investment talks.
They have revealed that talks with the club have been held over providing fans with a clearer update.
Seamus Coleman injury latest as Everton captain sets out return plan
Seamus Coleman has revealed he is much further along in his recovery than he thought he would be when he was on a stretcher leaving the King Power pitch.
The Everton captain had to sit out the final few weeks of the most recent campaign after damaging his knee ligaments during the 2-2 draw with Leicester City back in May. The full-back sustained the injury towards the end of the first-half after challenging Boubakary Soumare.
There were initial fears that Coleman had suffered ACL damage, which would have kept him out for the long term. However, while the Republic of Ireland international did sustain ligament problems, it was not as bad as first expected.
Coleman, who signed a new one-year contract with the club in June, underwent surgery before the end of last season and has since been doing his rehabilitation at Finch Farm. And now, providing an update on his fitness, the full-back has explained he is currently hitting all his targets and is hopeful he can be back in full training in six to eight weeks.
Speaking to Irish publication The 42, he said: "I’m good. I am better than I thought I would be coming off the pitch that night [against Leicester City]. I didn’t think the best that night.
"It was a significant injury but I am recovering well, hitting all the targets so far, being back on the grass over the last few weeks, not with the team but with the physios, back with the ball, and that.
"Slowly but surely, it’s starting to feel better. Without putting a target on it, because that’s not what they are doing as such, it’s about reaching points and scores in the gym before you can move on.
"At the minute I am doing all that. In six, eight weeks, maybe I will be back at it fully and feeling good."

PSV Eindhoven want Jarrad Branthwaite
According to Rik Elfrink, PSV Eindhoven have made another attempt to sign Jarrad Branthwaite on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at the Eredivisie club and is claimed to have been in attendance at Ibrox for their Champions League qualifier against Rangers last night.

Everton remain locked in Che Adams talks
Everton remain locked in talks with Southampton over a deal for Che Adams.
The Blues are seeking an experienced striker to bridge the gap between the youth of Youssef Chermiti and the quality of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. That search led them to Adams, who has been somewhat of a long-term target for the club.
Everton had a £12million bid for the Scotland international rejected by the Saints over the weekend after making the offer on Thursday. However, the ECHO understands that talks between both clubs have continued over a deal.

MSP Sports Capital withdraw from Everton takeover talks
The Athletic have reported MSP Sports Capital have withdrawn from investment talks over a minority stake.
The US firm had signed an exclusivity agreement and planned to invest up to £150m, however it has since fallen through, it has been claimed after the exclusivity period concluded.
The outlet says that the deal is dead after Everton's existing lender Rights and Media Limited being the stumbling block. The Atletic continues that there was a reluctance to give its protection and the plan from MSP became unworkable.
It has been claimed that the lender's concern was the investors not putting enough money into the club in return for equity and the Blues needed more cash. The US group will continue with it's £100m loan to the stadium company, it has been said.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is reportedly trying to find alternative investment including the resumption of talks with 777 Partners.
