Pape Matar Sarr has certainly been handed a new lease of life under new Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou. The young midfielder was given a few opportunities in his first season at the club under Antonio Conte last year, but has grabbed his opportunity under Postecoglou with both hands.

Sarr came off the bench for the final 15 minutes of the Brentford clash on the opening day of the Premier League season, before starting and scoring against Manchester United last weekend.

It was Sarr's first goal for the club, and, more than the strike, he turned in an exceptional display in the middle of the park alongside Yves Bissouma and James Maddison.

Sarr knows he has a battle on his hands for a starting berth, with Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg also in place. Not to mention Rodrigo Bentancur coming back from injury next month.

It means Postecoglou has a welcome headache to contend with. But, for the Senegalese international, Postecoglou has certainly had quite the impact.

That showed with his all-action display against United but has also been clear for all to see in Spurs training too.

In a video released on the club's official X page, Sarr is seen scoring an audacious goal. Ivan Perisic is rolled the ball and he centres for the onrushing Sarr, but rather than sidefooting it home, the 20-year-old flicks at it superbly with his left foot behind the right and into the corner of the net. It was quite the finish and shows the confidence oozing out of him ahead of the game against Bournemouth on Saturday lunchtime.
