Kemar Roofe issues Rangers reminder with goal in first start after 16 months but he can’t play against PSV

KEMAR ROOFE proved to Rangers manager Michael Beale why he can still be of service to the Ibrox club after scoring against Ross County.
The Light Blues forward, who has had a nightmare spell with injuries over the past two seasons, was back on the score sheet in Dingwall.
He broke the deadlock early in the first half with a clever finish from close range.
He was a surprise inclusion in the the starting XI, his first start since April 2022 in the Scottish Cup semi -final against Celtic - a 16 month absence from the starting lineup.
He seems to be on the road to recovering his importance to the the side, featuring in the squad for all of the Gers' domestic games so far this campaign before his eventual starting place against the Staggies.
But despite his strike in the Highlands he won't feature in the Ibrox club's crucial Champions League play-off second leg encounter with PSV on Wednesday night.

The sides are all square after the first match in Glasgow last week, having played out a 2-2 draw in Govan for the second consecutive year.
Roofe, however, will play no part in Eindhoven as he was not listed in the squad for the first game and cannot be registered for the return leg.
Roofe was substituted later in the match as Beale's side recorded a 2-0 away victory.
Speaking about the striker's return against County, former Gers star Derek Ferguson told BBC Sportsound: "You feel for the boy, the amount of injuries he's had.

"It shows you how much Michael Beale thinks of Kemar Roofe.
"It looks as if he's going to be an important member of the squad this season."
This sentiment was shared by another ex-Gers star in Kris Boyd.
On punditry duty with Sky Sports who were covering the Dingwall clash, Boyd added: "Looking at today's performance, he wants to prove to the fans, he's back, he's fit and he's ready to play games."
