Manchester United have reportedly offered Marcos Alonso a two-year contract as they search for a left-back.

The Reds are currently short in the full-back department with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both on the sidelines with injuries. MEN Sport understands Chelsea's Marc Cucurella and Tottenham Hotspur's Sergio Reguilon are being considered as cover for United.

Another name which is being linked elsewhere is Alonso. The Barcelona man was reportedly offered to the club this weekend having not featured for the Catalan giants until yesterday's clash with Villarreal.

Marca understands United wish to bring him on board for longer than a short-term deal. The Reds are believed to be wanting to sign Alonso on a season-long loan this summer and then, once his contract expires at the end of the campaign, give him another 12 months.

Alonso is understood to be weighing up the proposal from United and even though he was planning to stay at Barca, this could change. Elsewhere, Bild journalist Tobi Altschaffl is reporting Bayern Munich have prioritised Scott McTominay as a target to strengthen their defensive midfield.

McTominay is thought to be a player who would be allowed to leave in the summer window should a suitable offer be submitted. This latest report claims Thomas Tuchel is a fan of signing the Scottish international having seen him perform while manager of Chelsea.

Bayern's bosses are now thought to be working on a deal with the player's agent and United to try and sign him before the Friday deadline.
