Former Everton star Gerard Deulofeu has sent a message to Goodison Park arrival Beto.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Blues until the end of 2027. He is Sean Dyche's fifth signing of the summer after the acquisition of Ashley Young, Arnaut Danjuma, Youssef Chermiti and Jack Harrison.

Everton reached an agreement with Serie A side Udinese Calcio for an undisclosed fee for Beto, bringing the forward to the Premier League days before the window closes.

Beto completing his move to Merseyside ends a two-year association with the Italian club, where he scored 22 goals in 64 appearances. During his time at the Stadio Friuli, he featured alongside Deulofeu - who enjoyed two years at Goodison Park.

In his first interview with the club, the 25-year-old revealed that he spoke to the former Blue ahead of the move, he said: "I talked to him the day before I travelled. He told me Everton is a big club, has crazy fans, they love you, and it is a really good club to play for.

"Words can’t express the feeling I have right now to play in Goodison Park because it was a stadium I admired when I was in high school.

"I always wanted to play there because of the city, the derby, and everything. I think the fans at Everton are a little bit more of a step up than the other fans, so I am excited to play in front of them."
