Manchester United 'considering Leonardo Spinazzola' in left-back search and more transfer rumours
Man United are looking for a left-back following an injury to Luke Shaw and have been linked with Leonardo Spinazzola.
Manchester United have 'enquired' about the possibility of signing Roma's Leonardo Spinazzola, according to reports.
United have been left in a bind as transfer deadline day looms on the horizon. Erik ten Hag is still looking to add another goalkeeper and midfielder to his ranks but now the club is on the hunt for a new left-back as well.
Luke Shaw was ruled out for two months with a muscular issue this past week and has joined fellow defender Tyrell Malacia on the sidelines. The injuries leave United with no senior left-back options with right-back Diogo Dalot playing there against Nottingham Forest. Youngster Alvaro Fernandez was on the bench.
MEN Sport understands United are considering several options as they look to remedy the situation with a specialist left-back. The Spanish market is being scanned with Tottenham's Sergio Regulion, Marcos Alonso of Barcelona and Chelsea's Marc Cucurella all under consideration.

However, according to reports in Italy, Spinazzola is also on the radar. The Italian international was crucial for Italy in their triumphant Euro 2020 campaign until suffering an ACL injury that ended his tournament. The 30-year-old missed all but four games of the following season but made a consistent return to action in the last campaign, making 40 appearances.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, via GetItalianFootball, United have asked Roma about Spinazzola's availability as they look to replace their injured left-backs.
Meanwhile, United have informed West Ham that Harry Maguire is staying, according to The Times.
West Ham had a £30m bid accepted for Maguire, but talks stalled over wage concerns and it's now said the centre-back will remain at Old Trafford to fight for his place this season.
David Moyes 'had been open to reviving the deal'.
