'He's ours' - Liverpool fans have Cheick Doucoure transfer theory after Crystal Palace decision

Liverpool only have until Friday evening to complete any last-minute transfer deals

Cheick Doucoure has been left out of Crystal Palace's squad for their Carabao Cup second round clash with Plymouth Argyle this evening.

The Malian midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window and are understood to value the 23-year-old at £70million.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Reds add to their squad ahead of Friday's transfer deadline, with many still concerned Jurgen Klopp is still lacking a defensive midfielder and central defender, having so far signed three players since the start of June.

Various names have been mentioned as possible options to fill the void of Fabinho, from Joao Palhinha to Andre, and Doucoure was one of the first to emerged as a contender to help revamp the Reds' squad. The ECHO reported in July the Palace star was on the shortlist of names drawn up to replace Fabinho, though such interest is yet to be taken to the next stage.

Liverpool may well have yet to lodge a bid for the Eagles' 2022/23 Player of the Year, though Reds supporters on social media have taken encouragement from the fact he was not included in Roy Hodgson's squad for their Carabao Cup fixture away at Plymouth this evening.

Of the view this could mean a move to Anfield could be on the cards, fans have expressed their excitement over what could be a hint Doucoure may be on his way out of the London club.
