Everton yesterday confirmed the signing of Beto from Udinese, who has penned a four-year contract with the Blues to become Sean Dyche's fifth signing of the summer.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Toffees can get additional deals over the line between now and Friday, though this would certainly be welcomed after a difficult start to the season.
Danny Ings and Johan Bakayoko are two names to have recently been linked and we have the latest on both players in today's live blog, along with an update on Alex Iwobi's future.

REVEALED: The Everton third kit for 2023/24
Everton and Hummel have revealed the third kit for the 2023/24 season.
The Blues will line-up in a modern take of a unique design from the Danish manufacturer, which will see them wear grey for the first time since the 2017/18 season.
The third kit is a pinstriped design with contrasting grey tones, white base and traditional Everton blue. Grey shorts compliment the kit, with blue and white chevrons, plus grey socks with a blue, chevron trim. An eye-catching feature sees the illustrious badge replaced by Prince Rupert's Tower Logo.
Similarly with the away kit, the third strip sees a v-neckline with modern shoulder chevrons, synonymous with Hummel. A retro 'EFC' logo features on the neckline on the back of the shirt.
The goalkeeper shirt follows a design pattern as the home and away version, paying homage to the relationship between St Luke's Church and Goodison Park.
Hummel are celebrating their 100th year, this year, and as part of Everton's alternative strip, one of the brand's most famous designs has been recreated - Denmark's 1986 World Cup kit.

Beto first words
Beto expressed his hapiness at signing for Everton on Tuesday, insisting it was an "easy move" to make.
The Blues were long-term admirers of the Portuguese striker and finally got their man after submitting an offer deemed acceptable by Udinese.
Speaking for the first time after arriving on Merseyside, Beto said:
“It feels good to join Everton. I have always appreciated them as a club. Everton is a big, big club in the Premier League, well respected and has big history. It was easy to make this move.
When a club like Everton tries to buy you in January and then comes again in the summer, you feel like, 'Okay, they want me for real', so that made the decision easy for me as well. My idol, Samuel Eto’o, played here, too, which makes it even more special."
