Danny Rose reveals what he did with iconic ‘Cheryl outfit’ after Sky Sports appearance

Danny Rose has revealed his ‘Cheryl hat’ went straight in the bin after being mocked for an outfit he wore on Sky Sports.
The former Tottenham defender donned a striking ensemble, complete with a military-style hat, when he appeared as a pundit for the Newcastle-Spurs game in April this year. The outfit went viral on social media with many fans comparing it to popstar Cheryl’s costume in the video for ‘Fight for This Love’.
Rose was reminded of the fallout from his outfit choice during an appearance on talkSPORT this morning (Thursday), with a clip of the aforementioned being cheekily played.
Asked by presenter Alan Brazil if he was trying to make a fashion statement, Rose said: “I thought I looked all right that day, to be honest. Then, on the way back from the game, my phone was off the radar. I was getting battered by everyone.

“Nobody was commenting on how I did doing the punditry, it was just photos [on social media]. I got one of Janet Jackson on there, then Cheryl Cole. So yeah, the hat went straight in the bin.”
Rose, 33, is still a free agent after leaving Watford a year ago. Since then he has trained with non-league York and is eager to get back into the game, insisting he can still perform in a top league.

Rose has spoken openly about his mental health struggles and, during that Sky Sports appearance, he revealed how he needed a complete break from the game.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been away from football,” he began. “I’ve deliberately not watched any football, I didn’t watch the World Cup.

Sky Sports is bringing you 500 live football games to watch, as well access to Cricket, Golf, F1, Boxing, NFL, NBA and more across eight dedicated channels. Sky Sports is the only way to watch all the action this year.
“It was only until the other night, I watched [Manchester] City in the Champions League. Watching it, listening to the music, I thought, ‘OK, I miss it’.
“I haven’t been in this stadium for a long time. The feeling of, you know… I love football. It’s a lot to do with the atmosphere. Just seeing how they played football, that feeling after the three points, it’s just re-ignited some feelings within myself.”
