Darren Fletcher's sons, Jack and Tyler, took to Instagram on Wednesday night to celebrate their moves to Manchester United from Manchester City, with current and former Reds taking the opportunity to praise their decision.

MEN Sport reported last month that United were hoping to sign the pair, with both included on the list of new academy signings just over a month later.

Jack and Tyler had been in the City academy for nine years but United have always had a place in their hearts. They have often been spotted in the Old Trafford directors' box and it's little surprise given their dad's association with the club.

Their moves were made official this summer and the pair have now celebrated the moves by posting on their Instagram accounts. Tyler Fletcher wrote: "Happy to have signed for @manchesterunited. Looking forward to the future." Meanwhile, Jack Fletcher wrote: " Next challenge… @manchesterunited."

The posts led to a flurry of responses from the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Phil Bardsley and Alex Bruce, son of former centre-back Steve Bruce, with some taking the opportunity to aim a dig at United's cross-city rivals.

"Well done mate. In the right colour now," former United full-back Bardsley wrote. Meanwhile, Shea Lacey wrote: "Where the lads belong."

Youth team players Charlie McNeill and Dan Gore were also among those to welcome the pair to the club.
