Wolves have until 11pm this evening to add to their squad before the transfer window deadline ends what has been a busy final week for the club.

There had been a notable lack of new signings throughout the summer at Molinuex with only back up keeper Tom King and right back Matt Doherty arriving, both on free transfers. But that changed on Thursday when 18-year-old Paraguayan winger Enso Gonzalez was recruited from Libertad, signing a six-year contract with the option for a further year.

And his arrival was quickly followed by the deal for 24-year-old central defender Santiago Bueno who has joined from Girona for £10m. The club are also expected to announce the signing of Tommy Doyle from Manchester City having agreed a season-long loan for the midfielder with a view to a £4.3m move.

Matheus Nunes' move to Manchester City for £53m has freed up some funds if Wolves do wish to strengthen further, and can get business done before time runs out. They have made an inquiry about Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed, the 29 year old who has made more than 100 appearances for the club since his £6m move from Southampton in 2020.

Wolves have also been linked with a new striker. Names linked with the club include Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Southampton’s Che Adams. Manager Gary O’Neil was playing his cards close to his chest at his Thursday afternoon press conference but hasn’t ruled out further signings before tonight’s deadline. So, maybe there could be a surprise name in there.

One thing he was confident about is that Wolves would end the transfer window with a stronger squad than they had a week ago.
