Unai Emery admits he isn't expecting a "big surprise" in the final hours of deadline day, and he is happy with the business Aston Villa has completed this summer.

The window slams shut in eight hours, and Villa have made one addition to Emery's squad today, with Clement Lenglet joining on loan from Barcelona. The 28-year-old spent last season at Tottenham Hotspur, and was targeted by Villa after Tyrone Mings suffered a serious knee injury on the opening weekend of the season.

Asked if he is happy with his squad, Emery said: “I am very, very happy with how we are doing in the transfer window. We add players with experiences, and kept a lot of players who were a success last year with very good performances.

“Now, today is the last day. I am not waiting for a big surprise, and really I will be happy with the players we have in the squad for this season and playing in different competitions, trying to be a candidate to do something.”

Speaking of Lenglet's arrival, Emery said: "After Tyrone Mings' injury, we were analysing about how we can face the season playing a lot of matches and more after to get in the group stage of the Conference League. Lenglet was a very good opportunity on loan for one year.

"He has experience at Barcelona, at Sevilla and Tottenham playing at a high level, and in Europe. He is left-footed and really I am very happy with him because he is joining us giving his quality, experience and capacity. He can support Pau Torres to play on the same side and I am happy."
