How Rangers can get rid of PSV blues vs Celtic as Michael Beale wrestles with Roofe dilemma

MICHAEL BEALE has a blank canvas when drawing up his team for Sunday's visit of Celtic.
Ibrox will be painted blue with home fans only attending the first Old Firm clash of the season.
It is perhaps the biggest test of his new-look squad yet.
With no injuries and no selection barriers, how Beale tees up the Gers for their biggest domestic match of the season will gauge just where the rebuilt Rangers are at.
Nine players have come in over the summer but not all have made an impact. An Old Firm game is the perfect stage to make a name for yourself as a new signing - and that goes for either side.
There's always pressure in this fixture.

Celtic are without a win - and without a GOAL - in two games.
But after the disappointment of the PSV hammering in midweek there is even more emphasis on a positive result for Rangers, and that heaps further focus on the personnel.
He selected just THREE summer signings from the start in the Netherlands - Jack Butland, Jose Cifuentes and Cyriel Dessers - but all those and more are available for Sunday's big one.
Kemar Roofe missed out midweek after being left out of the European squad but he comes back into the reckoning after a scoring return at Ross County last weekend.

So too is Borna Barisic fit after limping out in Eindhoven.
A clean bill of health across the squad means Beale has plenty of options and combinations to lay down a marker at the top of the Premiership
Sunsport has taken a look at how the manager might decide to line-up - but will the tactician have a surprise or alternative up his sleeve?
Jack Butland
The most impressive of the new signings was the only bright spot in Eindhoven and has proven an assured replacement for Allan McGregor.
Butland pulled off a string of saves to keep the scoreline down and will reprise his role - keeping homegrown keeper Robby McCrorie on the bench.
His calmness in the pressure pot of an expectant Ibrox will be vital.
James Tavernier
The captain will, as usual, be on the right side of defence - or rushing in at the back-post as is his want.
As an attacking threat he is vital to the Gers and his set-pieces will threaten Joe Hart - especially after converting a stunning free kick against him last term.
Will never please everyone but has enough clout and quality to keep Dujon Sterling out.
Connor Goldson
Another stick-on to start. He made a howler in midweek but those are few and far between - his dependability has contributed to Rangers' settled side for the past five seasons.
Scored twice in the season opening Old Firm of Gers' title-winning season.
John Souttar
Another who found the net against the Hoops last season, the defender has made the spot beside Goldson his own.
Has shown flashes of his capabilities after an extended run in the team, and that'll likely continue with a move for younger brother Harry failing to materialise.
For all the good work there have been costly slips contributing to goals too - like midweek and the opening day at Kilmarnock - but not enough to cast doubt on his inclusion.
Borna Barisic
The Croatian will almost certainly get the start with rival Ridvan Yilmaz back fit, but lacking match practise.
He has been exploited in this fixture before, but after a resurgence under Beale this season and the concern shown over his hamstring worry in Eindhoven proved how well he has started the season.
Ryan Jack
Gers don't tend to lose big games when the ex-Aberdeen man starts and his control in the midfield will be vital.
Beale perhaps hinted his inclusion by leaving him out of the midweek defeat with Jack rarely playing two games inside seven days.
He'll allow his fellow midfielders licence to get forward while keeping the rhythm between attack and defence.
Nico Raskin
The little Belgian was withdrawn against PSV - a move many believe was to rest him for this fixture.
Able to play any midfield role, Jack's inclusion should release him more to link up the play with partner in crime Todd Cantwell.
Jose Cifuentes
Perhaps the most questionable inclusion of our XI, the Honduran had a nightmare in the Champions League play-off and looked leggy.
A big and strong presence in the middle of the park can't be overlooked and Beale may just plump for the ex-LAFC man to start.
But, based on form, he could drop him to the bench and pull Cantwell deeper to unleash Rabbi Matondo.
It's a conundrum only Michael Beale can decide and he might just save the Welsh winger's pace for later on and place Cifuentes in the middle to stamp some early authority on the game.
Todd Cantwell
Fan favourite and Beale's utility man is another guaranteed starter - but where?
Cantwell has played well in the heart of midfield but is also adept at supporting the attack from midfield and with goals needed, he could pip Sam Lammers to the spot just off the front two come Sunday lunchtime.
He gives the manager options to tweak his tactics depending on how it's going and he'll get the partisan home support going regardless.
Kemar Roofe
Another whose absence from midweek points to inclusion, Roofe's return against Ross County showed he's sharp and ready.
Left out of the European squad he's not been dented by the PSV drubbing and as the most natural finisher in the team boasting an Old Firm goal pedigree, Roofe's experience will be huge for the Gers.
Cyriel Dessers
The big Nigerian has been Beale's go to man so far and his strength and size up against Nat Phillips is likely to be preferred over fringe men Lammers and Danilo.
He still has to win over the doubters though, but what better p[lace to do so than an all-blue Ibrox in an Old Firm?
Substitutes
Michael Beale does have other options on his bench.
Rabbi Matondo is one widely tipped for a role against Celtic after surging back into the first-team picture again.
His dancing feet against Eindhoven proved his confidence even in the face of the midweek misery but whether he starts or is unleashed in the rivalry is a big call Beale has still to make.

Danilo has yet to truly get going and it's another chance for him on the big stage, while Sam Lammers has been in and out of the side.
Experienced Old Firm heads Leon Balogun and John Lundstram could be other alternatives Beale turns to at some stage during the game if control or a gee up is needed, but what is without question - the Gers boss needs a positive result to take into the international break.
