CHELSEA youngster Tino Anjorin has claimed Portsmouth are “a bigger club than Bournemouth and Southampton” after completing a loan move.
Poole-born Anjorin, 21, has made five appearances for the Blues but now embarks on a third loan after spells with Huddersfield Town and Lokomotiv Moscow.
Pompey currently sit in the League One playoff positions, having been in the division since the 2017-18 season, one tier below Saints and two below the Cherries.
The English youth league winner has tried to get new fans on his side, comparing Portsmouth to local Saints and AFC Bournemouth after completing a late summer switch.
In quotes reported by Portsmouth News, Anjorin said: “I know Portsmouth is a massive club.
"I’m from down south, so I know they’re a bigger club than Bournemouth and Southampton.
“We have to get Pompey back to where they belong. Pompey’s not a League One club, Pompey’s not a Championship club – Pompey are a Premier League club."
Anjorin, who was schooled at St Aldhelm’s in Branksome and QE in Wimborne, was linked as a potential transfer target for Saints in the summer of 2022.
