Michael Beale deserves more Rangers time but Kenny Miller warns he must 'pretty much go unscathed'
Beale has endured a rough start to the season with some fans already calling for him to leave
Former Rangers forward Kenny Miller believes Michael Beale needs to be given the ‘best possible chance’ as fans begin to turn on the Ibrox boss.
Following their failure to reach the Champions League group stages and a 1-0 loss at Ibrox to Celtic in the season’s first Old Firm match, Beale has found himself under increasing amounts of scrutiny from punters and pundits alike. Record Sport exclusively revealed that he was to be given more time at the club as chairman John Bennett isn’t entertaining any calls to relieve him of his duties.
Miller has now called for fans to give the former QPR boss the time to get it right at Rangers but admits the club are not in the position they’d like to be in at this stage of the campaign. He said: "He can absolutely recover. I understand the outcry and frustrations.
"It is there for all to see when things are not going as well as everyone would like but the only way you can turn it is by winning games. The performances need to improve and the personnel within that need to improve. It is not just the manager.
"I get he has the responsibility with the signings but it is also up to the individuals on the field to take the responsibility and perform. It is really important that in Rangers' next phase of games, they pretty much go unscathed.
"I understand the frustrations of fans but stability and continuity also, for me, gives you a better chance of achieving success. Where Rangers are at the moment is not where any fans of the club want to see them.
"Only time will tell if Michael is the right man for the job going forward but he definitely deserves the best possible chance to let it develop and get better."
